Need help with G P fault-fatal error on bridgeport easy-path lathe. The software will try to restart. To clear the error it must be in MDI. The system will try to save the current work. Then gives a "possible pointer error." Got any ideas?

I know this is an old thread but did you ever come across the fix?
I am having the same problem on my Bridgeport/Romi ezpath lathe.
I get the GP fault - fatal error which is followed by a
system error- possible floating point error
Then then the machine locks up.... i restart the machine sometimes it will run for a short time then i will get the GP fault and the system error again
Any help
Brian
Just thought i would post the fix
Had an tech come to look at it and right away checked the mother board and found it had become a little lose, pushed it up and into place and the lathe is now running perfect!! He told me this is a common problem with these bridgeport machines. He says lot of ppl misdiagnose it as a bad motherboard and replace the board.
Now building parts again and it feels good!!
If anyone is in the South Western Ontario (Windsor area) and needs electrical help I know a great tech!
