40 Hours unless the customer's screaming for parts in which case I'll work overtime, but I don;t get paid for this.
I love deadlines- I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

The real job get 40 hours and the CNC bit gets the other 128...sleep? whats that?

I work in motorsport, so my workload is seasonal. Now the season has started things have slacked off a bit so I doing about 40 hours. However, from November to Easter is the busy time and motorsport people have difficulty with the concept of "next week", so the hours ramp up. Then I try to keep it below 70 hrs. Golden rule: never work Sunday.
self employed slave 80 hrs min.
I love being the "owner" !!
i used to work about 55 hours a week. but now i opended up my own shop and i'm back to 40 hours a week.. and maybe a saturday .. anybody wants to source out any jobs ?
We stick to 50!!!! sometimes get called out on a weekend for customer EMERGENCIES
Other than that if it ain't done on Friday, Itll still be there Monday!!!!
38 hours spread over four days; not for me, for my employees.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.
hey guys can i work with you,im operating cnc for 4 years
I refuse to be abused. 40 hours and that's it. If that's not enough, there aren't enough employees or there is too much work, or both. Don't be a sucker, guys!
My wife and I own our own business. Ahhhh...the life! I get to pick my own hours...I can either work the first 12 hours of the day or the second!
But...I've never been happier at work than the last 16 years!
rdarlington, I could not agree more.
We used to work from 6am to 11:30 pm seven days a week. Eventually the guys' brains were that fried that it was counter productive. They were making EXPENSIVE mistakes out of pure tiredness and exhaustion. One digit error in a six decimal calculation caused 15K of damage to a Germanium dome (for a submarine).
Diminishing returns I beleive it's called. I'd rather have 3 sharp employees that 6 knackered ones.
