How to design Double Toggle Mechanism for Moulding machines

    Dear All,

I'm trying to design a simple electrically operated injection moulding machine. I searched Five Point double toggle Clamping system like this patent :

    http://www.google.com/patents?id=psI...gle+five+point

I'm using Solidworks for design and i wonder, what's the hot points of this design. How should i start to design, what is the proportion of arms and how do i design the clamp? What is the calculation method? Please write me as long as you do, i'm pretty ready to read many many documents. Book advices are also welcome.

    Thanks in advance

I worked in molding many years. The key is in component quality. The toggles quickly wore out on inexpensive machines.

    Dear Karl,

Thank you for your quick reply. I tried to handle it with chineese method but i couldn't find an electric injection moulding machine. I designed a clamp by myself but i want to guarantee my design. I'm sure my design can also work but i need strong desing and longlife of clamp. What do you say? or could you help me to find some datas about good machines?
