    Metal buildings

I had a 50x50x14 metal building give to me
and I am in the posses of poring a slab for it.

    My question is about insulation.
The building had the standard 3” thick fiberglass with
white vinyl backing, couldn’t be saved.

I’ve recently seen buildings with a thin foil backed bubble type insulation and it seems like a 50/50 slit
on who I talk to about witch is better.

The price is about the same for either type.

Do any of you guys have any experience with one vs
    the other?

I live in south MS and the summers are very hot.

I can contribute as i have installed both. The "double bubble" is easier to deal with as far as installation but the r factor is a little less. however, the reflective covering is better for the hot summer months and if you ever have a need to wash the walls....it is certainly better. look for the compressed type fiberglass instead of the double bubble. the cost will be about the same but usually comes with a lap seam. Lap the edge if it doesnt have the 4 inch joint as the joint tape is not going to last. Metal buildings will sweat so it makes sense to plan for it. give the building a way to drain it to the outside and seal the base trim to prevent it from leakin to the inside.
