Only one thing jumps out at me - why jumper the Estop? Isn't that just making a permanent estop? I haven't an estop yet so nothing connected an mine worked right away? If i'm base over apex I apologise

normally the e-stop is connected all the time and when you push the button, you break the signal. This way if a wire breaks it will go into e-stop. The ohter way and a broken wire will prevent the e-stop from working.
I would try the g540 with out the motor hooked up. As A rule I would do the connections 1 step at a time. I would also have a copy of the owners manual in front of me while doing this. I have made mistakes and when I open the manual the answer is right in front of me.
