I guess I should introduce myself.
I found this place from a recommendation of a friend on a woodworking website.
I know next to nothing about CNC, or CAD, but I'm ready to learn. I live and work in Tokyo Japan, I'm a Canuck, I've been here in Japan for over 18 years now, I love sushi, but hate natto
I recently went to a trade show of industrial woodworking machines, mainly because the importer of the SawStop tablesaw was there, an I am hugely interested in getting one. While at the tradeshow, wandering around, I came upon a booth from a Taiwanese company called Geetech, they make a lot of woodworking equipment for a lot of companies. I'm also a woodturner, I have a Nova DVR 3000 lathe, well they had some smaller lathes there for display, and would sell them, as they did not wish to cart them back to Taiwan, I bought a lathe, for $200, I could not resist. The fellow at the booth was very nice and helpful, he has a small DC there that he said I could have if I came by truck to pick the lathe up (instead of shipping it to my home). I came by truck to get the lathe and the DC, and we got talking and he asked me if I also wanted the "other" tool they were showing..........

This is a pre-production model
I told him it was well out of my price range, but I was very interested, he told me that if I took it home and promised to use it a lot and give them a bunch of feedback, that I could have it  I was shocked and I also agreed on the spot. I can also not sell the machine, without their approval first.
Now I have to learn about CNC and CAD, so I'm hoping that this is the place to be.
For all of you experienced CAD operators, how would you recommend I start learning the ins and outs? The software I've been given is by a company called Type 3.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Cheer!
