I'm looking for a 3/4 or 1" 10 turn acme screw 6' and an anti backlash nut. I just don't want get into ball screws prices for acme gear. Mcmaster-carr isn't too bad on the screw, but I was hoping to find a source of anti backlash nuts in the price range of dumpstercnc or cncrouterparts. Does anyone have any recommendations? If not a cheaper source just knowing you are happy with a particular anti-backlash nut would be useful to know. Thanks!

Have not kept up on pricing.. but the "go-too" for me has always been Nook Industries.

That said my big mill has McMaster Carr screws, backlash is about 0.004" on an 8 TPI pitch screw.

I'll be making some like it when i get a tap.thats what size thread i'll be trying on my router as i already have the acme thread.

The lumen labs offerings are promising, but I was really hoping to stay 10tpi. Thanks for the tolerance info. I will give Nook a look too.

http://www.homecnc.info/cnc-main.html has a good double nut design that could be adapted to acme nuts.
