Swemill,
You said you tried to "export" the file? (Export is to send) "Import" is to bring in and is the command you are needing. Mastercam is very good at "Importing" DXF files.
I am in need of an eagle head (side profile) in dxf or dwg format. Can anyone help me with this?
Brian
Ahh.... Sorry for my bad english... My program is in not in that. I mean "convert". I have imported the file and tried to convert it with no luck but i will try again.
Thanks!
I am wanting to know the best way to convert an image. I am looking at a poster board cut out (and get asked to do this alot) and need to convert it to a clean dxf file to laser cut. It is time to stop killing myself freehanding the artwork if that is possible. What software and what hardware do I need.
Thank You
Scream!
Does anyone have a laser cut or plasma cut DXF of the Taz??
SURE DO
when you open a file in mastercam you must tell it the extension their should be a drop down to be able to select autocad .dwg or .dxf try this ( select ) open (for file) go to where you stored the file if the box is blank look at your slecton window click on one of the arrows then a drop down should let you select dxf or dwg then select your file master cam should load it from their

One method that might interest you has been discussed earlier in the thread.
Check posts # 2733, #2747, #2783 etc. by "Switcher".
-Scan or photograph the poster board.
-Open image in Inkscape software & trace path.
-Save using Switcher's DXF R12.
The better the original image, the cleaner the DXF will be.
Thanks for the advice mlind, I'll look into it a bit more.
I thought some of you, might be interested in this post here , that I made, about how to get Sketchup 7 to export FREE 3D DXF files/models (VERY COOL!).
