Ok, you don't need the voltage at rest. Now do the constant speed voltage measurement on the good drive, just for comparison.

    Brian,

I was looking at your photo album and saw a couple of things to comment on. I suggest you read the datasheet for the L298, there is a suggested layout for this circuit on page 9 that would probably benefit you. Also, if you are running at max current of 2 amps, you need a heat sink on the device. I can't tell for sure from the picture of your drives, but the sensing resistors look like they might be a wire wound type, which is not good. Also, I suggest that they be closer tolerance than 5%, more like 1%, OHMITE makes the ones I use. If you use a smaller value like .2 ohms, you might even be able to get lower wattage ones.

    Hey Jon,

Didn’t fix the problem, I had to put this project on hold because I got a job!!!!!! So I have been a little busy.

Hopefully I can find some time after I move. I am contemplating building a new board with some upgraded parts. I will prob have questions at that point.

Thank you for all you help,

    Brian
