PMC-ALARM 202 "Commanded Tool in Spindle"

    Machine: MV-JR

    Control: Fanuc 10M

Problem: PMC-ALARM 202 "Commanded Tool in Spindle"

Whenever the program calls for a tool already in the spindle, the above error occurs.
This is a friend's machine, so I'm not very familiar with it. Found nothing in the Fanuc manual and he doesn't have the Mori manual.

This seems like it's a parameter issue. But don't know which one.
Any and all help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Bob

What you're looking for is PC parameter K8.6 (keep relay). Go to nc system and arrow till you see pmc. press it then arrow until you see pmcparam. press it select keeprelay and arrow to paramater 8. count over 7 spots from the right (0,1,2,3... etc) or 2 spots from the left. change this bit to a 1. now when you call a tool that's already in the spindle, it will just ignore the m6 and carry on through the next line of your program. I took this info from an old MV40 ladder manual, so you'd better verify that you no longer get the alarm otherwise change the parameter back. Also you'll have to turn on parameter write enable in order to change the keep relay.

If you can find your ladder manual this info will be in the back right before the D pc params.
