    looking good.

have fun making the torsion box bed and base supports. i started with those. i used my pneumatic brad nailer to hold things in place a bit while the glue dried cause it's hard to get a clamp on everything (at least I don't have the clamps to do it). but i did clamp all the edge pieces well. also, i cut myself some 7.5" and 8" scraps to use as gauge blocks that I could lay in there and easily layout the cross pieces for each row as I glued it up.

I was working on the X axis plate I got that done and the gantry done I put on the pipes and just about all the roller bearing was rolling on the pips except for one it looke like its off by 1/8" I may have to redrill that one bearing then it will be right.

I'm also redoing the adjustment blocks some of my bolts was coming lose when I would ajust the pipies I'll use play wood on this again till I can get me
    some thick delrin or aluminum.

    1 pice 3/4" x 2" x2' = $3.67 FT 2' = $7.34
    1 pice 3/4" x 2 1/2 x 2' = 4.23 FT 2' = $8.68
    --------------------------------------------
    total $ 16.02
    shipping $5.00
    -----------------------------------------
    FInal with local tax $22.69

Well after resting from a long ride in the truck I went down to the basement and dome some work on the small adjustment blocks they turned out pretty good HDPE not as bad I though it was going to be but you do need a table saw and drill press to work with. Don't work with it slow peck at it. It will gum up the drill bits (Thank You for the info on that on Ron Broken balsa). I need to make 7 more small adjustment block and 4 large adjustment block oh yah plastic taps out better they MDEF and will way longer then a life time.

    Sorry to hear that.

As much as I can I am using the bolt and nut method rather than having the "wood" support the pressure of the threads. I purchased a punch of threaded metal dowel nuts for edges and normal nuts for the flat areas (like the bearing blocks)....I don't trust MDF or HDPE to hold....

If you decide to continue you may want to try and support the MDF on both sides with clamps while you are tightening the bolts.

What are you going to do with everything you've already built? I hope you aren't going to just trash it.....

Does anyone have any idea how precise the base support and bed supports need to be? Upon gluing, it was necessary to flex the top piece to get it to stick to one edge of the ladder structure (probably no more than 1/4") - how much of a problem is this? Should I start it over?
