Hoss,
Thank you for the codes and screens, very good work!
Jeff...
Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.
Didn't have any clue how to write VB code, Greolt and Erniebro did that,
I just did some editing, added some lines, combined some codes, inserted some math, added some inputs and outputs to make it do what I wanted.

who are these people you speak of? Members?
Yep, greolt made an auto z toolsetter and erniebro expanded on it.
Then I expanded a bit more to get to this point.

Very nice table!

I added all the new codes for probing with tool diameters to my Probing Screenset.
You can download the zip below or the self extracting exe from here.
This video gives the installation instructions.

Did manage to get to do something tonight, added a home switch to the trunnion table.
Consistently homes to within .001 each time.
Have a week off from work coming up in a couple weeks so I hope to get using it for something then.
Have fun, Hoss

I had a request on my forum for a metric version of the latest probe codes
so I thought I'd share them here as well.
The screenset will come soon.
thanks, Hoss

Made a little flood coolant update.
21 months since I started running flood and it couldn't be better.
Still have 3/4 gal left of Syn-Kool, I've had to add water a few times due to evaporation.
You can get it at Enco and MscDirect.
Good stuff, it prevents rust and has NO odor even from the tank that hadn't been opened since the beginning.
Whisper quiet, the chips collect in the pan for vacuuming later and all I'm left with is a wet part.

Hoss - do you do a wipe down of your mill every night?
Tormach PCNC 1100, SprutCAM, Alibre CAD
No need, the coolant is rust preventative and doesn't leave behind
any sticky residue to speak of.
I run a very thin mixture, up to 30 parts water.

After making some notes for the R8 ATC and tapping with ATC, I had a little time to play around tonight
so I started setting up the tools for the trunnion table.
I'm using work offsets for the different sides, makes it real simple.
I set the origin on the face with G54 then rotated the table for the left side
and set the origin using G55.
I'll carry on for the right using G56.
Here's a little teaser video I shot making sure it was working right.
No 4th axis CAM, just DeskCNC for hole locations and editing in notepad.

Very nice. I'd love to build a trunion but I doubt I'd ever use it.
Using it this way as basically a part flipper is pretty simple to program
getting into 3D and such is going to require some good CAM help.
MeshCAM looks promising but I don't know that I need it yet.
I'll probably put that stuff off till after I take care of a couple other projects.

I was working on setting up the trunnion on the back side and realized I couldn't see behind the table to set a tool AND reach the jog keys.
It's time to make a pendant!
Gathered parts I had laying about over the weekend to build a little something,
the only thing I had to order was a little $11 enclosure from Pac Tec.
Even got a free sample case from them.
Made a couple Brains for Mach 3 to work with it, along with keygrabber.
Not going crazy, just need some basic functions but it'll be expandable.
Seems like there's never an end to the things that I just HAVE to have.
Later, Hoss
