    Dovetail Insert

Wondering if some can help me figure this out...I created a custom tool so I can back plot a dovetail groove correctly..., but I doesn't want to do the ID side of the groove with the opposite edge...It's using the same side of the tool for the OD as well...I described it as .125....If I use a standard tool and give the 31 deg. clearance it does the tool path correctly , but when backplotted it looks like it machines the groove too big...When it's posted the numbers are correct so just a matter of me wanting it to look like the part when I verify it.

    What version of Mcam??
V9 doesn't like custom drawings where the cutting diameters go smaller than a previous dia. ( top end of the shank is OK as it is not a cutting edge )

    Why now use a Dove-mill ???

Oops, me too... I was thinking milling

You may have to define 2 turning tools to have offsets on different corners

    or

try with display tool comp off in the verify or combination of no comps in the toolpath etc.
