Problem with fillet finishing in RhinoCam2

    Hi folks,

I have trouble selecting a machining method (strategy) to finish cut a
    fillet on this training part.

The model's fillet is R4 mm and my tool is a 7,42mm (R3.71 mm) Ball end mill and when I try Pencil Tracing, Valley Remachining, Curve Machining, Between 2 Curves Machining bla, bla, bla....it just returns a message: "Null reference error" or "Error creating toolpath" etc..

What is wrong here? Can anyone put me in the right direction, please?

    Mecsoft Forum

Have you put this into the mecsoft RhinoCam Forum? The folks there are very responsive and have helped me with some of these types of problems. Typically when I run into these types of issues, it is a problem with the geometry being too tight for the tool I am using.

    rgh,

Thanks for the tip! I actually planned to do that too, and just did.

Can you elaborate this a bit, given my example.

    Geometry

I get these types of errors when the tool I am using is too large for the area I am trying to cut, or I have left a parameter off the tool edit that is required. An example would be trying to v-carve with a .02 bit when the largest channel is .019, or having an invalid parameter for the tool itself. (I have seen this when I don't put an angle on a v-carve rough). Though these are 2 1/2D operations, I would think it would be the same for 3D.

    rgh,

No, I don't think it is geometry in my case. The model's R is larger than the tool's R.

I got some assistance from Mecsoft yesterday and I suspect that I stated or chose wrong machining features (regions).

With Valley Remachining none is needed and with Horisontal Finishing one outside of the tool path works while my earlier chosen inside of the toolpath did not seem to work.
