    Dynapath Delt 20 mill

I have a Dynapath delta 20 I trun it on and get nothing, no monitor
the only thing that run in the fans abouve the controler that the power supply bolts to. I am thinking that the power supply may be out but would like to be 100% sure before I start buying parts. I have a red LED on the WDT and no lights at the switch their is one other board that has LED's and they do not come on. I can't remember what board.

I would appreciate any help. if any one has a power supply i would be interested in buying it.

    Thanks
    michael

there are a few things you do for starters.

    1. Reseat the cards to the back plane. Check that the edge connectors are clean.
    2. Check power supply voltage and ripple.
    3. Pull the PIC card from its socket and try booting without it. This is not a fix but indicative of which of the watch dog circuits might be bad.

I pulled the PIC card from its socket and rebooted. not differance.
Cleaned and reseated all connectors. nothing working.

    Thanks

O.K this is what i got
    AUX board green LED on
Processor board has two LED's green and red. no LED's are on
Pic board has 3 LED's the green and red are on the center LED is off

I also checked the voltage on the power supply
    5V pin 1 and 2
    24V pin 6
    +5V pin 8
    -5v pin 7
the white wire in the center of the power supply has 3.7V

This power supply has wires that go across the top and are number 1 thru 11 this is what I am calling pin location.

i think you should have +15V on pin 7 an 15V on pin 8, pin 6 is 24V. you might want to recheck that.

the red light on your PIC card means you have a timer failure. i believe this can happen if your PIC prom is corrupted, parameters are fouled up, or there's a hardware problem. since you've pulled the PIC without improvement, its most likely one of the latter two issues. Dynapath or Parts and Smarts is proabably your next possibility

Sending the control to Al Strelbicki at Parts and Smarts is what I did when I had similar problems. They fixed several problems, including a faulty DC power supply, and reset the machine parameters for about $1200.00. Money well spent in my opinion. I was very pleased with their work.

    Dynapath's

We just picked up two of these machines. One powered right up the other did not. Haven't taken the time to open the cabinet yet. We did get a Y axis servo error when trying to go to "zero" position. Just getting started looking into its parameters etc but it happens around y=2.75" every time. We are hoping we can tie both these into our Bobcad V21.

Could be an overtravel switch causing the servo error.
