Hi All
I am looking for a stepper motor driver that does not use step direction commands from a PC. It uses a pulsed input one pulse one step
Three input terminals +CCW negative +CW Can anyone steer in the right direction where to look.

There is no need for a 3 input system. Standard is a pulse for step and a +/- for direction. Some like the gecko G203v cw/ccw use a pulse cw and a pulse ccw pin.
What are use using to drive the stepper that needs 3 pins?

Hi Thanks for the reply
It is used on a chassis dynamometer for the load valve. the dyno controller does not use a step direction command but a +cw +ccw with a common negative. one input pulse = step on the load valve motor. any suggestions?

How about discrete logics to convert the old +cw/+ccw to step/dir. It seems to be not about speed.
Any idea of the signal timing ?
Step seems to be simply a XOR of CW and CCW.
For Dir I would suggest a flip-flop driven by CW and CCW.
This would store the direction until the next oposite CW/CCW flips the logic.
Is the chassis dynamometer water brake unit? or telma retarder?
Would be nice if some of the electronics wizards help build a all purpose cnc dynamometer controller !!!!
It is for a Dynomite dynamometer, water brake.. I have the entire set up for engine and chassis dynoing. I am always swapping the load controll valve from one to the other. The company wants close to a grand for the automated load valve. I am pretty good with metalworking and electronics I think I can make one cheaper. I reverse engineered the valve and I am up to the stepper electronics. The Gecko G203 is available with a CCW/CW input signal.
Thanks to all for the help

Hi
Don't be shy , a few pictures and more information would be nice to share. I have a engine dyno i would like to be able to control automatically also.
Open and closing water tap valves via a few stepper motors would be interesting method. As many dyno use this style of load control.
What electronics are you going to use to PWM the Gecko G203 ?
Cheers
