    Yasnac MX3 DNC with NCLink?

    Hello,
I am trying to get a Hitachi Seiki VM-40 up and running.
I was trying to download the NC program with NC link and I am not having much luck.
Can someone that is familar MX3 give me some pointers I have read the manuals but they leave out a lot of detail, Here is the cable I built,

    CNC Control-------------------------------Computer 9 Pin
    I/O Port RS232 Port
    DB-25 Male--------------------------------DB-9 Male
    1 Chassis ground Chassis ground
    2----------------------------------------------2
    3----------------------------------------------3
    7----------------------------------------------5
    4 and 5 jumpered
    6, 8, 20 jumpered

Also Do you go to the program screen, Select memory and select in?
Then would you push start on the DNC or let the machine tell it when to start sending?
    Thanks in advance

    The cable looks ok.

I think you need to select EDIT, not MEMORY. If you set the NC Link to wait for CNC, then send from the PC first, then go to the control and press IN.

Are you able to send from the CNC to the PC? It's usually easier to get this working first, as the PC is more forgiving than the CNC.

Arent pins 2 and 3 supposed to be swapped? Like 2 on the computer is supposed to go to 3 of the CNC, and 3 of the computer is supposed to go to 2 of the CNC?

Select, Edit, then press program, then press IN, then a blinking IN should be at the bottom of the screen, then go to your Computer and press send, it should then store it in the memory of the CNC.

Thanks guys, I havnt tried to go from the cnc to pc yet.
I will try using edit and the procedure you stated, Do you guys use the parameter settings sugested by NC link in help file for the MX3?
It says set the CNC to 2400 baud and Nc link to 4800, Is that correct?
I am new to this type of stuff, But I allways thought you matched the baud rate on RS-232 comms?
    Thanks

Baud rates, stop bits, data bits, handshake must all match on both the PC and the CNC.

    2 & 3 are swapped on a 25-25 cable. Straight through on a 9-25 cable.

My friend has a Matsuura RA1 machine with YASNAC MX3 control. He had a problem with the tools, it stucked, and the error code is 424. The PS alarm is flashing. He manually fixed the tools, but he couldn't delete the error from the computer. Do you have any advice to fix it?

I dont know these machines, he just asked me to help via this forum.

    Thanks in advance!

    From a Matsuura MC-760-V2 manual:

    Alarm 424 is:
    [43] TOOL COUNTER ERROR 3
The status of READ signal is not
compatible with the contents of the
    tool counter in the sequencer.

    1. #1028 D0 (*MTH1) should be:
    a) "0" when the tool pocket T01 is brought to the tool remove
position for the intermediate ATC arm.
    b) "1" when tool pockets other than T01 is brought to the tool
remove position for the intermediate arm.
When the above conditions are not met, LS20 is defective.

    2. #1028 D1 (*MREAD) should:
regularly changes 0 to 1 to 0 repeatedly when the magazine drum
    is rotated.
If this condition is not men, LS25 is defective.

    Thanks a lot. It works.

Do you know how can we set "0 point" in the work coordinator?

    Setting #6516 is G54 X, #6517 is G54 Y, and #6518 is G54 Z.

Thanks, we know it already. I need to know if it is possible to set a new physical zero point. If you know what I mean...

Can we create a new G code?
I set up everything with the 3d taster, and is it possible to reset a zero point in the work coordinate in order not to have to rewrite the parameters.

Sorry for the questions, but we are beginners in the machine.

    Thanks in advance!

If you have "USER MACRO" option you can assign a macro to a G-code.

    Parameter:
    #6120 sets G-code for calling macro O9010
    #6121 sets G-code for calling macro O9011
    ...
    #6129 sets G-code for calling macro O9019

So, if you put 101 in parameter #6120, when you command G101, macro O9010 will be executed.

    Dear dcoupar,

Regarding to the Matsuura RA1 machine with YASNAC MX3 control, I have an additional question. I would like to connect a computer to the machine. Could you tell me the steps, what do I have to do to make it work?

    Thanks in advance,
    Zoltan
