Hello all,
I have just ordered a machine with the 0i-MC controller. It comes without the ethernet option. I was wondering if a standard PC ethernet card will fit or is it a special Fanuc card? If it is a special card, what does it normally cost?

the 0i-C has a few different options
1. FANUC PCMCIA Card (generally reserved for Fanuc use)
2. Fast Ethernet Board
3. High speed Data Server

no you cant put anything in there..
but i should have an embedded port which is slower..
The 0i-C series doesn't have embedded ethernet function on it, only the 0i-D has it.
Best option, like Mystic Monkey says is fast ethernet board.
In the Uk it is a £1400 optional board and software.

Thanks, guys! Very useful information!

does the fast ethernet board option allow the exact same program-retrieval options as the embedded ethernet option on other controls??
(not using data server of course)
ie: with embedded ethernet, you can:
[edit] mode (i/o chan 9)
<prog>
O1 <OPTR> <+> <Read> <Exec>
to retrieve file "O0001" from the FTP server
is this the same procedure with the fast ethernet board? (except maybe i/o channel)
i assume the slow way (optr, host, embedd is similar except with "board" instead of "embedd")
thanks
