As long as the key is to the right, the light blinks and there is a warning beep. On my NL, during a repetitive production run where you are removing a done part and inserting a slug for instance, I used to turn it to the normal position which turns off the red light and warning beep. The problems is you can't manually jog or do anything with the door open in that situation, so for situations where you need to move things around or change tools, the key needs to be turned to the right. On the NZ I work with now, the job is 3 shifts 24 hours 6 days, and in 10 months that key has never moved from the right position since tool and insert changes are almost constant. With all the noise in this shop you can't hear the beep. As far as I know, that key has been in that override position since the machine was delivered 4 years ago.
