Hello All,
Just checking to see if anyone has a laser/plasma DXF of a large Oak Tree.
Thanks,
Were you looking for the second generation logo or first? Did you ever find it?

Well, the palm in Weldtutor's contribution was going to require too much for my project. So I took a page from Switcher's book and went looking for color books pages on line with palm trees. I found one, got the screen capture of it, pasted it into Autocad and then traced over it using a polyline. Worked great for my project.
The hut and the coast line are separate polylines.

yohudi,
Thanks, it looks great. Did you create the dxf? If so, and you have the time, could you email me and let me know how and what software you used. The dxf is really clean, alot cleaner that what I get from the software I've been using.
Thanks again,
Tony
Hi there,
Thanks for the kind words and glad to hear it helped. I did create the .DXF using a bit of found lineart. I edited the lineart to ensure a good result. I used the freeware version of wintopo to perform the vectorization. I've attached my edited image below so you can give it a go yourself .
http://wintopo.com/wintopo-free.htm
You do need to know how to get the best from wintopo. It's been said that the source has to be a single pixel line, which can be more of a pain to create than it would be to manually trace the image.
In my own use I've found this not to be the case. It's more about about using the correct "raster thinning" method and settings in wintopo. As you'll see from the source jpg I've attached, it's definitely not single pixel lines and this image produced the "clean" result you mentioned.
Give it a go.. costs nothing except a little reading and some time to learn the software.

EDIT: I've added a grab of the wintopo processing to get you started. These settings will change somewhat depending on the image.. but I think you should get the general idea. You can see in the bottom panel that the applied settings reduced the resulting vector by over 12,000 polylines.. hence the clean result.
hope this hepls
