Here is one of my latest creations. It's a cabinet door I designed with Vcarve Pro. I can provide the gcode for it for anyone interested.
I also have one for the fisherman in the crowd.
I deleted the text like "rando", said , then added my own text. That image was kinda fuzzy to start with, so I did this:
1) Open the original image that "ParkerMillguy" posted into MS Paint, & did a "Save As..." bitmap.
2) Took the new bitmap to http://vectormagic.com & converted to a vector image, I used "Vector Magic" because it's fast, free, easy, & you can swap colors, in this image it had 1 black, & 2 shades of grey, I converted everything to black only. Then saved the free .png image to my pc.
3) Open the free .png image from "Vector Magic" into Inkscape, did an image trace, then deleted the shadow under the box (it just looked strange ), I didn't delete the text until I found something similar inside the Inkscape text tool, that way I had something on my Inkscape screen to compare the original text to, after I created a new text (fragile) I deleted the nodes of the bad text with the nodes tool (still inside Inkscape), resized & rotated the text to fit the image, then did a union of both the image & the new text (Path/Union), then saved as a DXF R12 file.

A little info on "Vector Magic":
1) The free download link (.png) of a image conversion is at the lower left side of your browser window, when you finish the conversion steps.
2) Try to keep the original image that you import into "Vector Magic" away from the lower right side of the images outside border, the reason is that they add a small text to your finished .png image, you can add white space working inside of "MS Paint" before you do your conversion & it will take care of that problem.

RE: Shelby
Wierd, I opened it again, and it worked fine. Maybe time to do a repair on my mastercamV8....now that I see it clearly, a "nice job skipper" is definately in order
Thanks Switcher I'll give it a try and see if I can copy your result.
The finished .svg file that I was working with is in the .zip file, I posted earlier, If you want to take a look at that?
Also, another Inkscape tip:
After you create the text in Inkscape, it needs to be converted to a Path (Path / Object to Path).
Before you can do a "Union" of 2 objects you need to select both of the objects, a keyboard shortcut is to hold down both the ( Ctrl + Shift ) keys then click on both of the objects, that works good If you have a bunch of objects & only need to select 2 of them to do a Union (Path/Union).

This one is for a spider!
Another web for the spider.
For all of you in the plasma crowd. I found a new (for me) website that has some fantastic patterns, www.ironshadows.com. They have around 850 different patterns available.
Can anyone steer me to a dxf of a walking horse? A friend here at work is asking me for one.
