    Ok

    Hi Gerry

I finally got the driver test to run. I had to open it as if I was running windows XP for some reason. I showed that everything was "excellent"

I went over all my settings once more to make sure that I hadn't forgotten to save something

Ran the machine and then : MAGIC it's working without a kink!

You guys rock, If I could send you a beer I would!

    Thanks to everyone!

    Antoine

It almost always says that, so that doesn't really tell you anything.
You need to watch the kernel speed, to see how steady it is, and if it's close to what it's supposed to be.
And also look at the line, and make sure it's flat with no spikes.

When I first tried the driver test it was spiking a lot but the kernel speed was constant

The spikes went away other then the occasional small little spike here in there

What exactly is too many spikes? and what does that mean?\\\

    Thanks

The few little spikes are okay. I have never seen a perfectly flat lined Driver test. Flat lined means a human is not operational, but perfect for a driver test. The closer to flat line you can get on Mach 3, the better off you are. I am not certain, but I think the spikes are interruptions.

I had a very similar issue where if i jogged my machine along either the x or y axis i had no issue but if i jogged both x and y together it gave almost a grinding sound from the x axis stepper. I tried a few things and swapping drivers etc on the X axis and still nothing. I then found a bad connection on the Y axis and corrected it and the problem went away and hasnt returned.
