    Hi guys,

I am new to the whole CNC thing so I would love to come along and have a look at some machines.

At them moment I have just bought a hobbyCNC kit and am considering building a steel JGRO.

    Cheers

    Hi,

New to these forums and new to DIY CNC so a lot of learning to do!!
Would like to attend your next meeting, would be of great help in getting my head around a lot of what you guys have already learned and developed. I am finding this all very interesting and no doubt the CNC bug has started to get a hold of me, and looking forward to it.

    Cheers
    Tony.

    Hi Guys,

    Here's the updated RSVP list.

The good news is we have quite a few coming, which probably means I'll need to ask for a small donation for food. Will try and work out what is needed and get back to you. Want to keep it simple.

It would be nice to get more machines along if possible and also some other volunteers for discussing a topic of interest.

Remember you need to bring something of interest along as well.

I'll PM all respondees with my address and contact details a day or two prior so no need to email me anymore.

Make sure to respond to this thread if you are coming, that way you will get automatic updates to information.

    Hey Benny,

Not quite at the size of the Melbourne BBQ's yet, but we are getting there. Soon we will need to press the suppliers for some prizes, then we'll get some more interest

There were a couple of photos of the 1st BBQ, and they are here.

    http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75052

But I haven't seen any of the last one at Boris's so not too sure if anyone took any, which is a shame because it sounded like a good day.

I think we need to appoint a photographer for each event, and maybe a videographer too. Make sure to get photos of the attendees, machines and other bits.

Good luck with your one this weekend.

    Cheers,

    Claudio

Thinking of sharing my shop with local hobbists in the San Jose Area of California.
Have Fadal 4020, presses, clicker, sandblast, vibration polishing. room to work on car.
What do you think of the idea, and how would one go about finding 5-10 trustworthy responsible people that would pay $90-120.00 per month. Is it a good or bad idea?

    Hi Guys,

    Here's the updated RSVP list.

    Given we have 25+ people coming, I will need some help with costs for catering. If I got $5 from each attendee, I can organise the following;

    - my home made burgers, buns, lettuce, tomato, etc (they're good!)
    - sausages
    - a couple of salads
    - soft drinks
    - coffee (the real stuff - cappuccino, caffe latte, espresso, etc)

    How does that sound??

If you prefer to bring your own lunch let me know so I don't buy too much stuff.

Remember you need to bring something of interest along as well.

I'll PM all respondees with my address and contact details a day or two prior so no need to email me anymore.

Make sure to respond to this thread if you are coming, that way you will get automatic updates to information.

    Hi Claudio,
I apologise but I will not be able to make the BBQ this coming weekend as I have to go interstate for work. I thought I had the dates sorted out but alas the best laid plans of mice and men have come undone.

    Cheers

    Great news guys.

We have just had a generous unsolicited donation from Vectric for a copy of Cut2D or PhotoVCarve that will be drawn from a hat at the BBQ. Valued at US$149. Thanks Tony!

You can get more info here; www.vectric.com

Vectric have been great supporters of the Melbourne events and I appreciate their support for our Brisbane one. Hopefully this will start the ball rolling with other vendors for future events.

    Cheers,

    Claudio
