Electronics ( motors ) are up and running . Slightly tuned till they are mounted back on the machine . Still no major glitches so far . Need to calibrate for the size of lead screws Gerber has on them yet .
Should have at the end of it all 2 spare Gerber control boxes , that I don't see myself ever using .
One machine put back together and motors mounted , tuned better and on the stand . Screws calibrated and velocities i am okay with . Some cable management to do and grease all the screws , directions need to all be reversed as per the Mach jog screen settings , but those vids I know I have seen . Just forgot to save the link . New bearings should be shopped for next week . Since the gantry height is only 2.25 inches off the table , plenty of room to cut the extension side plates 1/2 to 5/8 thick alum . New riser blocks under the existing gantry only needs four holes drilled on each and longer bolts for them . Figure adding just another 3 inches to height for now for a 5.25 clearance , some table material clamps to go also . Coming together quite well . Still have to do a spindle / router mount too ,
All of you have helped through your threads with issues you had to deal with , Thanks sincerely .
Machine 2 should be no issue .
Did the first test cuts today and the machine with the swap out of electronics has had a few weird happenings but all in all I am pleased . ( that motor hum that some have had through a previous post when in idle mode ) Attachment 276522
It has been close to 2 weeks and all is well with the electronics swap out . Getting closer to the spindle choice to be completed , but for the hand trimmer used it hasn't given any problems as of yet and I think it is coming close to being on it's last legs . No loss in steps and circles are circles when cut .
When the spindle choice is made , then should be looking at doing some aluminium .
G540 , cables and motors arrived today to swap over the second machine . Will be nice to get it going as well .

Hey Kru82. Would you have any extra components you would like to get rid of? I have recently come into possession of one but I’m missing items needed to get this thing operational.

Been reading your thread. I’m trying to move a currently running Gerber Dimension 200 and Acrstation from a 20 year old Win95 machine to something more current and would love to know the hardware you used.
Hello Jason,
I saw your post about your D200.
I found a way to use a newer PC with the existing electronics and motors.
Did you ever retrofit new controls etc ?
I'm in Massachusetts.
