Hey check out my website...www.cravenoriginal.com
Thanks Marc
Yea, that doesn't sound surprising, I expect it's a pretty major challenge to get right.
I wonder if anyone has successfully done it. I do seem to recall a thread about someone getting a spindle (literally a metal rod and bearings) and attaching a motor via a belt. Was at least a couple of years back though, and I don't recall the outcome.
That is above some where under alternative spindle or something.
some have taken sherline spindles and converted them with some success how ever I think their RPM's are limited to <4 or 8k or something with the bearings that come with it..

Just figured I would update...
The spindle is working well. One thing I have noticed is that the over all routering noise in the upper levels of the house are Much easier to tollerate with the spindle cutting vs the router motor.
Other nice thing is with the VFD power on signal tied to a relay output from the parallel port the machine now shuts it self down the spindle motor on it's own at the end of the cycle as well. (Hmm wonder if I should tie in the dust collector power to an output..)
Anywho.. For sure very happy with the upgrade...
