    Think I'm going this way too. The GFI is a good idea.
    Have an old computer case so I'll mount them and the controller all in it.

    What exactly is inside a PC power supply that can handle that type of overvoltage on a continuous basis?

    I know the principle of batteries in series. But, aren't there some "smarties" inside the power supplies that react badly to higher voltages?
    First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.
