    This is is the inside of the controller.
    24v is ok, but if you see / feel it getting to hot, you will have to go with 12v, some of these Breakout Boards can't take the 24v even though they say it can

    Ok so in thr picture white=top spindle switch terminal. Black=bottom spindle switch terminal. Red =1-10 volt+ top terminal. Green =bottom ground terminal.

    The spindle cable is not shielded. I will order that, but can it run for now?

    i set all of the parameters to match and I have the jumper on v1.

    I try to engage the spindle from Mach3 I get nothing. If I press run on the front of the VFD it spools up and runs until I hit stop.

    What am I missing to control from Mach3? It’s probably simple but not to me today.

    You have to change the parameter that tells the VFD where it gets its start/stop commands from.
    At the moment it is using the front start/stop buttons. You have to change it to a remote contact.
    I don't own that VFD so can't tell you which parameter it is.It should be straight forward.

    These are the only needs for the VFD side, the rest of the settings are in Mach 3, if the noise from not using shielded cable is to high then it will kill any Terminal signals

    Start with getting the Relay working you will hear that turn on / off

    Then check that you have a voltage from the 0-10v in MDI type M3 S12000 you should have 5v at the Breakout Board

    PD001=0 (1 For Remote Control)

    PD002=0 ( 1 For 0-10v Terminal Control or Remote Trim Pot Control )
    ( J1 Also Needs to be set for Terminal Control )

    The Cable you need to get is CF6-15-04 IGUS

    For some reason I kept putting zero in the PD001 and 2. Now it isn't working from the front panel of the VFD, which I believe is good. The next question is does anybody know where I can get the correct Mach3 settings for this board and VFD?

    No you cannot run 24v motor with that VFD you need a 24V power supply

    So let me ask this another way. Do any of my config settings look wrong for this bob and this spindle? I’m getting no click at the relay on the bob. I’m thinking it is a config issue.

    Hyperryd

    Your Pulley settings should be 6000 and 24000 and may have to change the ratio to get the speed to match

    What do you have in motor tuning for Spindle this has to have at least 1 step Velocity and acceleration can be any number

    In the Diagnostics screen

    Does the output 1 turn on when you type in M3S12000 this needs to turn on your Relay and a M5 should turn it off

    Are you using PWM 0-10v or Step /Dir to control the Spindle Speed

    You need to add a 12v Dc power supply to the Breakout Board where it says 12v-24v Power

    Your 240v Ac single phase input Power wiring is best connected to R and T terminals and Ground to the Ground Terminal

    You need to use Shielded Cable for the VFD to Spindle Connection, and need to make sure the 4th Pin is connected inside the spindle

    These Parameters need to be set, if you have not already set them

    I guess pd073 and pd005 to 50 htz.

    No you can not run your spindle at 50Hz, PD005=400 = 24,000 RPM, the minimum speed for these spindles is 6,000 RPM =100Hz

    So I have control of the on/off and speed control from Mach 3. Problem is the speed control is backwards. Faster is slower. Is this a setting I can change?

    Would have to know what setting you have used in Mach3

    Also check the wiring to the VFD the VI to ACM is correct

    Re: Huanyang Chinese VFD settings and manual here!

    So the 1-10v from the bob is going to VI and the ground next to it on the bob is going to the ACM.

    When I set the speed in Mach 3 to 6000 rpm the VFD shows 400. When I set the speed to 24000 the VFD shows 125ish.

    See attached Mach 3 screenshots.

    Another question, can the VFD show rpm or only hz?

    Hyperryd

    I don't see anything in your Mach3 Settings that would cause this problem

    See that the 12v Power supply Positive wire and Negative wire is connected to the correct Breakout Board Terminal

    Check the output from the Breakout Board, is Positive and this wire is going to VI and the Negative is going to ACM, is there any jumpers on your Breakout Board that need to be changed, photo of your Breakout Board

    You could check these Parameters also

    PD070=0

    PD072=400

    PD073=100

    PD074=0

    Re: Huanyang Chinese VFD settings and manual here!

    I checked it’s input polarities and they were good. (24v)
    The output to VI ranged from .6-10v when I adjusted speeds in Mach 3 and those polarities were good too.
    Pd070 was 1, changed to 0.
    Pd072 was 400
    pd073 was 120, changed to 100
    pd074 was 0

    Still have reversed speeds. See pics of bob.

    Can I set the VFD to display RPM?

    Depending on the VFD you have, on the keypad you can change the mode to show RPM

    You sure that the PWM 0-10v output from the Breakout Board, is positive output and not a Negative output

    Check that the Jumper for the VFD Terminal control is in the right position

    If the Jumper is correct, there may be a Parameter that is not correct some where, the only why to know if there is an incorrect set parameter somewhere is to do a ReSet and set only the Parameters I have given you
