Looks awesome, bigtoy. Like some of the systems from Warn and others. I bet that press brake is grunting a little bit on those bends.
Cheers,

In a word AWSOME! How much did the project cost so far??
Don't ask me how I missed this thread but I did. I just finished reading it from start to finish and wow! In a word, INSPIRING!
Do you by any chance have som CADs you would like to share?
good works.
How do you have interfaced your Linear Encoder with PC (by means of Hardware)
No post on this in almost 12 years but the press brake still works but I would like to do some upgrades.
Right now it only has a single control valve and a single encoder on one side of the ram. This causes uneven bends on long parts. Not bad but a few degrees difference. So with todays technology I was thinkin about eliminating the proportional valve and pump and 5hp electric motor and maybe going to AC servos directly coupled to a hydraulic gear pump. One for each cylinder. Haven't looked into a bunch but shouldn't be that hard and should be a lot cheaper than adding another proportional valve. Those are about $6,000 each.
Right now I need to bend about 2-3 ' of 11-12 gauge stainless pretty accurately and don't really want to outsource or buy a real full size brake.
Also appears Langmuir has copied my design for their new 25t brake
