Actually, I just added the G540 to the website. It is for sale right now for $299 with the manual up on the site as well. Enjoy!

Mariss, congratulations on getting the G540 out. It appears that the wiring diagram is wrong in respect to the wiring of the E-stop switch. The text says pin 6 and the diagram shows pin 10.
Oh jeez.. You are right. That's what happens when I hurry. I'm correcting right now. Thanks.
Mariss
OMG! THE 540! Will be buying this week!!!!!

In the manual you suggest using a N.O. switch for E-stop. I always thought that an N.C. switch is safer as a broken or loose wire would cause an E-stop. Using a N.O. switch a broken wire will result in E-stop not being available.
Nice to see you are making progress, maybe the $39.00 G251 will ship in a few more days.
Let us know if you need a cake for the celebration.

OK, the pdf has been updated.

Mariss, love the manual...Very simple and straight forward. Look for a purchase from me at the end of the week! Amazing

rgoldner,
A lot of these issues will be addressed in the next revision. We had to get off the dime and get this sucker out there.:-) We are also looking at providing the 4 mating male solder-cup DB9 connectors and metalized plastic backshells (Digikey 109MEA-ND and 909GME-ND respectively) with each G540. That should make motor cable fabrication easier for users.
Mariss
Oh for sure! But you provided the part number which is great! Thanks!
-Jason
There was talk about including "Mach3 closed loop spindle control to work" via PWM to an optocoupler. Are you still looking at including this in the next revision of the G540? I'll wait for that if it is going to be included next time round. Thanks again for a great product and sharing the design process.
YEE HAW!!!!
Glad to see your hard work has paid off, Mariss. The only problem I can see is that it will probably be another week before I can afford to get one. Now that it is finally here I will be trying my best to get one as soon as possible though. Can't wait.

E-mail received, order complete!
The stork is on it's way with a playpen full of some baby geckos ( forgot the winning name ). oops

Mariss, do the metalized plastic backshells cover the connectors? I'm looking at them and am not 100% sure.
Whats the best PS for the Keling KL23H276-30-8B stepper?
Will a 48 volt 7.3 amp work well in my situation. Trying too find the equations too figure it out.
Will be ordering this week!

I am guessing that you actually can wire the Estop in normally closed mode.
The G540 inputs most likely are passive so you just ignore the diagram since its only a suggestion.
Al suggested a buffer however no additional device is needed.
Marris can you confirm this?
