PCB etching tool ? Runout Problems.

I’m looking for a cheap simple & small drill type solution for etching PCB’s

I’ve tried using a dremel tool with the long cutter cable attachment, but there is way too much runout. Even on the regular dremel tool, there seems to be two much runout. I need somthing small, not a big tool.

What should I buy ? I also need a tool head holder for it.

    Thanks,

YES, I need a good small and aforadable tool (spindle) for milling PCB's.

Everything I have has to much runout on my DIY CNC machine.

Also, I'm having Z depth problems (Leveling)

    Any suggestions ?

I'm thinking of trying to build my own, kinda like this...

I'm going to start with an old dremel tool I think.

    Thanks,

Also to get narrow traces and isolation you need a flat surface. 2 mils tops.

Yes, I've been having problems milling the depth on my PCB.

At one point I set the drill depth to z-0.0100 and it works fine,
but only for a trace that is halft the length of the board, then
it just scratches the surface for the other side.

I tryed placing 4 screws on my work area (one at each corner)
then I adjust each screw up or down, but it will never route
    at the same depth ?

I'm stumped ? I'm on the verge of failure because I cant get the
    Z depth set correctly

    Thanks for any help.

Milling quality pcb's is a little more difficult that at first glance it would seem. 1st mill your mounting area flat. That will help. Mounting area needs to be stiff. There is no room for backlash. Either mechanicaly get rid of it, or use the backlash adjustment settings of your software to minimize it.

    Wink PCB Tooling

    Hi
Have a look for cutplot on ebay they do just what you need the V shaped cutter allows for very small grooves whilst maintaining rigidity, all the best.
