    Enabling joystick drops Pulse Frequency

I bought a Logitech Dual Axis gamepad and am trying to configure it to work with my machine. When I enable the joystick from the Configure Plug-In screen I notice that my Pulse Frequency drastically drops from 35034 to a measley 250, so when I try to jog anyone of the axis it just chugs with a very slow ramp up speed and then a very slow jog and then a very slow deceleration.
Help please, note I tried to map the x and y axis with and without keygrabber and have the same results.
    Thanks in advance,
    Tom

    Ok, no bites.
Well, I am quite sure that the drop in PF was due to the fact that I was running a Pentium III 500mhz with 640mb ram running on XP.
I have since picked up a used Pentium 4 1.8ghz with 512mb ram (soon to be 1gb) running XP Pro. I have not had a chance to plug in the gamepad yet; but this time I will NOT be installing the Logitech software and I will use a default controller.
    Wish me luck,
    Tom
