1981 KITAMURA Mycenter 2 trigger output

    I have a 1981 Kitamura Mycenter 2 VMC with Fanuc 6MB control

Does this machine have a method of triggering an external relay and continuing after closing an external switch?
I cannot determine after searching the manuals and the internals.

    thanks,
    bob

Normally it is done by writing an M code in the ladder.

Can you expand on that...I see no auxillary M codes, nor any external ports for signals.

    Thanks,

There is a section in the control called the PMC, this is where the machine tool builder writes the logic for the machine control, Including M,S & T codes. these functions comunicate with the outside world using the Physical inputs (switches etc) and outputs (solenoids, relays).
Here routines are used to control machine logic and recieve the M.S.T. commands from the CNC side.
If you neeed any other M codes, they have to be writen using specialzed software and programming tools.
I believe there were a few versions of the 6 I cannot recall on your version wether you can display the ladder logic, or just see the I/O on the diagnostic screen.

Just joined the forum. May you found the answer aleady.

Kitamura uses four Mcodes to external triggering. M20 thru M24.
putting M20 in your program causes the NC to wait for an externalsignal. Look inside electrical cabinet for keeprelays to become active hen in MDI execiting e.g. M20 command. Connect external button to P1 or P3 and wire 100 or so. For ecact connetion see Kitamura's electrical diagram. When pushing the button yhe nc continues at teh next command afet M20.

    Succes,
    Rinus
