In the market to purchase a new VMC looking at Mori Seiki Dura Vertical 1035 ECO or a Doosan DNM500. Does anyone have any feedback on these 2 machines? What do you recommend? pro's con's?

in machine tools you get what you pay for. pay for the Mori.

Doosan is a good buy for the money, but if you can aford the Mori it is clearly a better built machine.

I heard that the Mori 1035 eco was made cheaper to compete with other manufactures. Do you know if that is true?

Yes it's true. Mori Mapps control is a lot nicer than a STD fanuc/mitsubishi. The ECO is a re-vamped DMG machine made in the DMG factory in China. It uses Mori-Japan made ballscrews and spindles. I have not run one as of yet, but IMO it's not a real Mori.

The ECO line is build in China to compete against Taiwanese machines. The distributor should bring the machines to their facility to make sure that they are working fine.
