Hi, I'm gathering information on machine color preferences and the most durable paint type. If you were purchasing a mini milling machine, what color would you gravitate towards?

Red goes faster.
I am more concerned that out is a rigid machine with quality parts than a cheap machine thats just a toy but looks pretty
I wouldn't bother with a mini mill at all.
Save your money up and get the next size up such as a G0704 or PM25 etc.
I now have both types and the difference is huge.
I'd buy the one in my garage that already has paint on it an the patina of use. You'll feel less bad when you crash it the first time.
I ended up doing a grey color, I know horror freight are not the best machines but I did my best to make it rigid
here is a short video doing a cut about 15mm deep and 2mm stepover

Tractor grey is popular for old lathes, tracor blue might seem a bit more modern.
Wisdom results from foolishness!
I paint everything the same color as scratched up oily paint. It helps hide all the scratches and oil stains.
