    10 wire stepper

    Hi Guys,

    I have a 10 wire berger lahr stepper motor 1.4A, 2.3 ohm I have measured it and there is 5 coils.

    I am stuck as far as knowing how to connected it.

    I don't *think* it can be used on a regular unipolar or bipolar drive. I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure it's a whole different animal.

    Have I bought a white elephant ??

    10 wire steppers don't seem to be very common.

    Berger Lahr and one other company make 5 phase stepper motors and controllers, but I have seen the controllers on ebay a few times. I have a couple of the motors that came on a 2-axis assembly, I robbed the encoders and bearings from them and they are in my scrap box.
