    BEI Encoder trouble

The small plastic part in the pic below came loose, can I just glue it back on?
Does this need any special calibration?

    Thanks

Extremely tricky, that is the grating that produces the Moiré effect to enable the encoder to read a higher count than would normally be possible, it would require a scope to at least set the position so that the two pulses were read at 90° (quadrature) difference.
