Looking into buidling an Auto-start RPC

I spoke with "Al the Man" about this a while back. But I thought I would see if there is anyone in the Vancouver B.C. area that might allow me to visit their facility so I can check out their (Auto - Start) Rotary Phase Converter. Just to get a visual as to how everything is wired in.

And if possible where to find a good, least expensive 20 HP Motor and electrical component supplier for run capacitors, push buttons, timers, timer relays etc.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

That was me, I am having trouble getting my password reset.

Look for good used 3 phase motors at your motor supplier/rewind shops, if you are looking for 220 they are usually cheaper.
If you intend buying timers relays etc, look at using a smart relay like Siemens Logo, they are also made by Omron, Idec and others, (identical).
    Cheap on ebay.
The will allow you to program logic with less hardware.

For a self starting rotary, look at US4158225, Claude M. Hertz, inventor, assigned to Ronk Electrical Industries. The other patents by this inventor and assignee are all worth looking at as well.

    my 2 cents

    Bored
    (ouch)
