    Benchtop overall

I'm just about finished 'upgrading' my mill benchtop.

The bed used to drain fluid to either side of the mill and then back below it to the sump via a couple plastic tubes. Chips would collect in the enclosure and I would eventually have to reach inside with a dustpan and clear them out.

In the new system, fluid and swarf drain to the middle and into a "chip can". The bottom of the chip can is filtered - fluid passes into the sump below and the chips remain. It should be quite a bit easier to empty the chips with this new design. Two other ups are that the area of the filter has been drastically increased from that of the old, and that leak points have been minimized (hopefully )

I am having some trouble with the fluid going with the lip of the opening and landing outside the chip can. Not sure how I want to fix this yet.

    Picture log is here:

    looks good!

it's been mentioned in other threads, but if you mount the mill on some hockey pucks, it will get rid of some vibration.
