    What do you use under your stock to boost the material up so that the table is protected? I'm getting ready to build up a tool plate for my Torus and want to raise it slightly to avoid cutting into the table.

    Lots of things, spacers cut from thick ally tubing, ally bar stock, 1/4" plastic sheet, the leftovers from cutting out parts from ally plate deburred of course, ally square stock lengths and so on, this is all just temporary sacrificial pieces per job.
    If you are raising a tooling plate I'd attach permanent square stock to the underside or at least permanent feet.
