    128memory format error

    Hi there,
In this case, the first thing you should do is to reload the system software and all the parameters. If this doesn't help, the next step you need to do is to replace the MEM board or the MB1 board.
    you can call 713-742-3885
    thank you.

    thanks for your reply.
the memory board has been tested and the batteries also replaced.the roll back option doesn't work.some people tell that it needs a set of 6 floppies to rebuild the memory and parameters.
my ques is to whom should i get those floppies?.mechanics get away soon after the name OKUMA is spelt.

why this is so?what will be the remedy?

instead of wasting time and all shall i throw away the m/c.?

    our m/c model(osp700L) year is 1996

you should have the floppy disks with the machine. if you don't have it, you have to order from OKUMA. it normally costs you around $2500. you just have to let them know your model number and serial number.
another question is how did you test your memory board?

the board was tested by a qualified technician of course only the connectivity.remaining things he doesn't know.as per his statement the board is good ,only thing is memory lost.

is there any possibility to change okuma control into user friendly fanuc control with out much changes with reasonable cost?

    thanks.

Okuma is very reliable control. It is a lot of work to retrofitting machine to fanuc. Thus it will cost you a lot of money. If you have the disk , I may be able to help you to load the software . I can send you the instructions. Make sure you have the software disks and also the parameter floppy disk.
