    where do you buy your foam?

    do you buy them in preformed blocks?

    Also can you cast your own? Like those spray on stuff for house insulation?

    I'd like to know this too, i've been scouring the internet for hours trying to figure out what kind of foam to us for high detail CNC work.

    Well this forum is meant for wire cutters so you would want to use a polystyrene or other thermoplastic foam. Most folks use blue or pink foam from the home improvement store for that.

    If you want to carve or route detailed shapes into foam, I would recommend Precision Board from Coastal Enterprises. They have a wide range of densities, sizes, all the fillers and adhesives you need and they will send you a sample to try. I like the stuff a lot.

    Using 2lb EPS can and does produce quality work. you can get it at numerous block molders in the usa. In Texas Starrfaom is about the biggest. I know they have a place in AZ too.
