    Where to buy lens?

    Hello

I am looking for place that sells cheap collimating plastic lens.
I know one place(Roithner) that has laser collimator lens, but these lens are too small for my aplication.

The lens size i am looking for is at least 15mm x 15mm of useful surface(the more, the better).

Does anyone know where to buy such lens (for low price, for instance under 5$ for a piece)?

Edmund Scientific used to one of the best priced places when I was a kid. They have grown creatly since, so their prices may not be as good.

I think edmund optics is their high end optical outlet

Edmund Scientific are good, i've used them many times but they are a bit pricey now since they expanded into precision optics. They are now known as EO or Edmund Optics, their Web Site is www.EdmundOptics.Co.UK typical prices for lenses are like 20 quid though. You might also want to try http://www.plasticoptics.com/stockoptics.html - I have't tried them so can't comment on quality etc.

Price really does depend on the actual size of the lens. Also if it's one wavelength you're operatng at (say HeNe laser- 633nm) then you won't need chromatic abberations correction so it'll be cheaper. We manufacture plastic lenses but again, we're a bit pricey 'cso we're aimed at the highest spec market that no- one else can make

    All the best!
I love deadlines- I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.
