Pual I hope you have sucess with Mach2.
I love it.
Over time you keep on discovering different things it can do.
The really good thing is you can open the screen editor ( found within the mach2 folder) and make a custom screen to suit your purposes.
You are not limited to the buttons you see as default. You can even get rid of all the buttons and features you know you will never need. Why have 6 axis on display when you only have a 3 axis machine, or you can group the buttons in ways that make sence to yourself, instead of just been bamboozaled with screen full of buttons.
Just for example I have made a button that when pushed will move the ganty off the workpiece that will allow for easy screw down. By fefault the machine will return to x and y zero. This means it is hard to screw you work down. The button will take Z to 50mm and then take the gantry to -200mm
This is one example of how you can custom the buttons.
The same goes with the different control pages. I have a page that has the tool path as full screen. Much better for visually checking your code.
You can also asign different keys on your keyboard to take place of the screen buttons. I have the keys on my keyboard marked in texta for all the short cuts. All the function keyes are good for doing this becaese you have room to write beside the keys. Maybe when we run one of our Mach2 competitions we could ask people to design the best layout.
