    Exclamation shoptask

    i want to convert my old shoptask into a cnc, any ideas as where to get the ball scdrews and any thing else?

    Check with Shoptask- I got a flyer a while back about a CNC system for the older machines that was only 1500.00 complete with MachIII. They probably have the ball screws too.

    It depends, the easiest CNC kit, and ballscrews. You can build the CNC stuff yourself, or buy a kit from Camtronics. You could also buy ball screws and machine them your self. It's all a trade off, if you put the work in, the price will be less, but there may be false starts. If you want to have olug and play, it costs more.

    Of note, even with the Shoptask CNC kit, you still don't get home or limit switches, or a reasonable Estop, so you will still need to do some customizing on your own.
