    skate bearing design

Attatched is my first go at a linear bearing design using 22m skate bearings. It's made of 1"x1 1/2" aluminium screwed together. The idea is to get adjustment by slacking off three of the allen screws ( which are in oversized holes) and tightening the long shaft that runs through the vertical bearing. This bearing would have spring washers on both sides to accomodate the adjustment.I'm sure someone must have done something like this before but any comments would be appreciated before I start making swarf in the workshop.

    Thanks Paul

Looks good, a nice adjustable design. I was thinking of using skateboard bearing myself, but a more simple gantry style design, with the bearings running in aluminium u-channels.

Good luck, sorry I can't be of more help.
