Our Crown runs every day...That being said, there is a reason it's for sale. Get someone to check it out. ESPECIALLY if it's from a used dealer. There are some VERY shady ones around.
The used machine is from a used equiptment dealer that I have purchased machines from in the past, so I trust them. They do check them out and replace anything that needs fixing prior to sale.
One machine we were looking at is a 2000 L1060, 10" chuck. It is currently listed at $45K and has 16500 hours on it.
Does this seem like a fair price? It seems a bit high I think.

Solid machine and can be rebuilt comparatively easily right back to original factory specs. Should give you years of accurate trouble free service if properly maintained. Only thing I've heard bad is that parts catchers on the rounded doors were hard to keep from leaking. Unfortunately WD-40 and Duct tape can't cure the problem either...but remove the factory rubber gasket and use silicone and it will be leak free for quite a while (depends on how aggressive your coolant is)
I prefer a machine with the servo turret if possible for the speed and reliability, but wouldn't be afraid of this one, but as "underthetire" says, be sure to check it out thoroughly.
Best regards,
Thanks for the info. What do you think about the pricing if the machine is in perfect working order? I know this can be a very subjective quesiton, but based on year of MFG and hours of operation there should be some range

Seems very high to me. I would think more in the 32K range.
