    Problems with my first cut

Just got my Joe's 2006 up and running and tried to make my first cut. I developed a lettering toolpath in Aspire, saved it for post processesor Mach2/3 Arcs (inch)(*.txt). When I loaded this into Mach 3 it looked great on screeen but when I ran it the alignment was off (picture attached) - the lettering is supposed to be nice and even on two lines. I don't think it's my machine itself since each letter came out correctly which makes me think it's software realated.

Any advise would be very much appreciated.

It looks like you're losing steps

on the vertical axis. The letters look okay because the step loss isn't happening during the cutting of the letters, but somewhere in between. Try lowering the vertical axis' velocity and acceleration; it will go a little slower but (hopefully) will be accurate. You might also check for stickyness or play in that axis - a little mechanical problem, like rust on a slide, can cause that, as well as a pulley or screw that's a little loose.
