With the CAD/CAM software Pictures by PC 3.6 from German software developer SCHOTT SYSTEME GmbH, NC programming and milling times are now further reduced.

These savings are due to numerous new machining strategies included within their latest Pictures by PC 3.6 software release.
Hybrid finishing, for example, generates toolpaths within a single finishing operation, to optimise and combine the machining of side faces and flatter regions.

An improved rest material recognition both analyses and marks areas that require further machining with a smaller tool. This enables the residual material to be completely removed.

The existing pocketing operations are now complemented by the inclusion of trochoidal milling. The radial toolpaths facilitate the machining of extremely hard materials, improve the machine dynamic through ‘smoother’ toolpaths, and extends tool life.

SCHOTT SYSTEME has in addition included improvements to the toolpath simulation, and has combined existing milling, 5 axis simultaneous and turning operations for fully integrated mill / turn.

SCHOTT SYSTEME GmbH continues to develop the same software solution originally launched in 1983. Starting out as one of the very first vector based graphics packages for the PC, their Pictures by PC software has evolved into one of the most mature CAD/CAM and technical documentation products available today. Being a fully integrated 2D/3D CAD, CAM and graphics package, Pictures by PC caters for all aspects of workshop machining, through to product design and documentation.
