    different ballscrews ?

    good evening gentlemen,

    i can get some nice occasion ballscrews but they're not all the same type
    1 ground ballscrew
    and 2 rolled ones
    is there anything against puttin all of these in one three axis set-up ??
    and were would you guys put the ground one and the other rolled ones ??

    A ground Ballscrew is likely to run a little smother and be more precise.
    It is howerver just one amongst many components that make up the Drivetrain so unless all components are of very high presison it would make little difference.
    Rolled Ballscrews quality is sufficent for general Milling applications.
    On a Lathe I would be temted to use the higher precision for the X-Axes because it
    controlls the Diameter of the Part and operates on the Radius needing twice the resolution.
    For a Mill it dose not matter.
