Hello, I'm Ken from Alabama, USA - new here, but been lurking a while. Great resource.
I've got a Chinese 3040 CNC with a spindle that's got .004" TIR - that's just too much it seems. The CNC was pretty good at start, but now it's vibrating more and I do think the .004" TIR could be the cause. I'm doing mostly PCB milling and engraving text on mild steel.
I've been looking at the possible upgrade to a 800 watt spindle with VFD - either the water cooled or air cooled. Is the water cooled much less noise than the air cooled? Much difference? I'm sure the water cooled would be best for those 2 and 3 hr long projects, but all my projects (so far) involve less than 15 minutes of machine run time.
Comments and recommendations please,
Ken H>
